The Quebec Wood Export Bureau (QWEB) sincerely believes that designers, architects and manufacturers have a very important role to play in promoting the virtues of wood in the lifestyles and well-being of individuals. Among other things, hardwood is a renewable material, is good for the health and captures carbon.
A Japanese association (IDFA) has organized for several years now, a leading design contest of worldwide renown. It has accepted QWEB as the sponsor of a special prize – the Maple Leaf award. IDFA’s International Furniture Design Competition offers a wonderful opportunity for designers, architects and artists in general who want to join us in enriching the wood furniture industry with interesting and innovative designs.
I urge you to take part in this competition. I especially urge you to use Canadian sugar maple as the basic material for your creation. More information about the competition is available at:
